A spacious and comfortable boarding cattery offering a safe haven for your cats while you are away

Charlie's Cattery is located in Pamber End between Basingstoke and Tadley on the main A340. We are licensed by Basingstoke & Deane Council - licence holders Miss Tracey Davis & Miss Janet Ayres, license number 19/00670/AWAAL FOUR STAR Rating. We welcome short and long term boarders from Tadley, Basingstoke, Newbury, Reading and surrounding areas. You are welcome to view the cattery prior to booking. Please contact us to arrange an appointment.

Cattery Accommodation

Our boarding cattery has been built with the comfort of your cats in mind. We have 19 chalets which can accommodate one or two cats from the same household. They are full height chalets with shelves in both the sleeping quarters and exercise areas for your cat to snooze or sun themselves on. The sleeping quarters are heated and insulated to keep them snug and warm. All chalets have opaque sneeze barriers for privacy and to prevent cross infection. Your cat will be provided with beds lined with a comfy cushion, fleecy blankets, scratching posts and toys to keep them amused. They will be regularly checked on throughout the day and made a fuss of to make sure that their stay is enjoyable.

Cattery Information

All cats entering the boarding cattery must have up to date vaccinations against Feline Flu and Enteritis. The vaccination card must be brought with you on arrival. We also request that your cat has been treated for fleas and worms prior to boarding.

All male cats over the age of 6 months must be neutered.

Each cat will have a daily chart to monitor litter tray use, feeding and any health issues that may arise. We stock a variety of wet and dry food and meals are served twice a day. If your cat prefers specific food or a prescription diet this will need to be provided.

If your cat has its own bed, basket, blanket or toys with which they are familiar with, please feel free to bring these along to make them feel more at home.

Cattery Prices

One cat - £15 per day

Two cats of the same family sharing - £22 per day

This price includes food, litter, heating and insurance

A full days boarding is charged for arrival and departure days. Less than 3 days boarding is permissible although there is a minimum charge for 3 days. During the Christmas period the minimum charge is equivalent to 5 days boarding. A deposit of £25 is required to secure the booking Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer only

This was Bailey and Molly's first stay at Charlie's, this and the fact we had not left them for two years made us a little anxious. We needn't have worried, from the moment we arrived it was abundantly clear it is a well run establishment. The booking in process was thorough and the daily routine of caring for our cats was explained in detail. Whilst we were away we received an update with photos which gave us added reassurance. Like all siblings our cats have the occasional spat. When we collected them Bailey threw a hissy fit when Molly climbed into his basket, he had a complete melt down but Janet had the magic touch and he calmed down. What really impressed us was the email we received checking if the cats had settled once they were home. This shows how caring Tracey and Janet are and how seriously they take the welfare of the cats they care for. Bailey and Molly will definitely be holidaying at Charlie's again.

This was the first time that we found ourselves with no choice but to put our elderly Burmese in to a cattery and we were fairly anxious about how he would handle the experience.

Having thoroughly researched a number of catteries within a 15 mile radius of our home, I selected Charlie’s Cattery as the reviews and website information showed a true love of cats as the priority rather than the commercial business aspect.

They lived up to all of our expectations and our cat Elliott looked well and had clearly had plenty of love and affection.

We have booked again and this time we feel completely happy that Elliott will be having a holiday while we are away.

Thank you Charlie’s Cattery for looking after Elliott so well and for putting our minds at rest that our much loved old cat is being pampered and well cared for.

One final thing to note, I have a love of cats and stopped to see every cat ‘guest’ and all seemed very happy with no signs of stress, and everything was immaculate throughout.

I can't praise Charlie's cattery enough. They looked after our two with so much care and love. Our big Ginger Tom was ill a few days into his stay and they did exactly what we would have done, taking him to the Vet a number of times. He was soon back to his best but without them who knows... we had regular updates on his progress and pictures too. All of which helped us with the worry. The goodbye they gave both our cats was heartfelt and you could see they really care about their guests. We will definitely be using them again.

Winnie hadn't been to a Cattery before, so she was anxious but she needn't have been at all, as Janet & Tracey were very welcoming, and she soon settled down. Charlie's is very clean and so warm and cosy that I'm sure she didn't want to come home. Will certainly be using them again and will recommend to our friends who need a safe, no worry environment for their moggies to stay.

We were delighted with Charlie's cattery. Tracey and Janet obviously care passionately about cats and provide an efficient and well run service. All the administration etc went very smoothly and professionally.

The cattery itself is well designed so the cats can't see each other (although apparently our cat did climb up to peek over into next door!) and is divided into levels/areas so there are places to explore and hide, as well as privacy to sleep. The cats are played with every day (if they want this). Everything was spotlessly clean.

When we picked up our young cat she was relaxed, with a glossy coat and seemed to have had an equally good holiday to us! Clearly had been very well cared for. I will be a regular customer from now onwards and am so relieved to have an excellent local cattery where I know my cat will be safe and happy.

Couldn’t ask for a better first experience with a Cattery! Very welcoming and friendly, both Tracey and Janet made us feel at ease about leaving our cats for the first time. The Cattery itself feels warm and cozy, with plenty of space for the cats and lots of home comforts provided by Charlie’s to settle them in. The cats had a lovely week and were super chilled when we went to pick them up! We’re so pleased with the care they received that we booked them back in for our next break away. Would absolutely recommend, We don’t intend on using anywhere else now!
